The National Original Print Exhibition Contemporary Arts Trust prize 2018 was awarded to Julie Dean for her bold woodcut composition “Port of Liverpool from Salthouse Quay”.
The winner of Contemporary Arts Trust Prize at the Whitechapel Open exhibition is Alexis Teplin for her textile installation which was immediately striking, even before the performance, written by herself, which brought the whole work into a third dimension seamlessly. The costumes and the backdrop blended in an infinite exchange.
The Alice Batkin Contemporary Arts Trust Prize for the most promising emerging Portrait Painter was awarded to Shaun McGovern for “Jess and Hayden”.
Named after the famous Welsh tenor, Robert Tear, the award for any student of opera.
