The Contemporary Watercolour Competition, run by the Royal Watercolour Society, is the UK’s only major watercolour competition open to international artists. The competition encourages innovation and experimentation in all water-based media and provides a platform for both established and emerging artists.

Contemporary Arts Trust prize for PS the Pastel Society Annual Exhibition 2017 was won by Dominic McIvor of Edinburgh for his work, Brick I; his innovative and personal style and exceptional use of varied media and techniques.
The exhibition includes thirty-two paintings from Michael Darvill’s artist book Travelation. ‘Travelation’ is a word made of three parts; travel, elation and revelation.
The Society of Wood Engravers returns to Bankside with a vibrant new selection of wood engravings and relief prints from the UK and around the world. Drawn from an open submission and a rigorous selection process, this annual exhibition showcases around 150 prints demonstrating a wide range of approaches and subject matter, combining wit and vision with often astonishing levels of skill.
Print Print Print: This exhibition features recent work made by staff at Glasgow School of Art who use traditional printmaking processes and techniques. Print Print Print brings together a wide variety of screenprints, etchings, lithographs, monoprints and woodcuts.
Showcasing the outstanding art graduates of 2016, selected from across the country by members of the Federation of British Artists (FBA). The exhibition will be an exciting mix of degree show and newly made painting, sculpture and original prints, all exploring contemporary figuration and ideas of representation and draughtsmanship.
