Paul Nash at Tate Britain Millbank London SW1P 4RG

Uncover the surreal and mystical side of English landscapes through one of the most distinctive British painters. Paul Nash was fascinated with Britain’s ancient past and spent time in southern England exploring the Downs and coastal areas. Equally inspired by the equinox and the phases of the moon, he used all these influences in his work, interpreting his environment according to a unique, personal mythology, evolving throughout his career.

RP Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2015 at Mall Galleries, The Mall, St. James’s, London SW1

It was decided to split the prize money between two young artists. The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2015 prize was won by Emma Hopkins for her portrait of the barman and artist at the Chelsea Arts Club. Emma searches out subjects that interest her and paints them in uncompromising detail. The results are startling and extremely strong. After spending time in Madagascar working on an orangutan reserve, in November 2016 Emma took part in the Face/Time exhibition at 90 Piccadilly, London where she exhibited a very strong portrait of Ann Bates OBE showing her mastectomy.
